Engaging the Detroit Community
Grantmakers in the Arts has a long-held commitment to engaging the community in each city where the annual national conference is held. Over 100 Detroit-based artists, arts organizations, thought leaders, businesses, and funders are featured in conference-related programming this year as speakers, organizers, hosts, and authors. The artworks featured as part of this year’s conference materials are the abstract expressionist paintings of Gilda Snowden (1954 – 2014), an influential Detroit artist, educator, and
mentor. Learn more about Gilda Snowden.
