GIA Conference: Engaging the Local Artist Community
The first morning of the GIA Conference in Detroit will kick off with an IDEA LAB presentation by writer and curator Taylor Renee Aldridge. Based in Detroit, Aldridge is also the assistant curator of contemporary art at the Detroit Institute of Arts and co-founder of ARTS.BLACK, a journal of art criticism from Black perspectives. She is one of over 100 Detroit-area artists, arts organizations,
funders, and community members that GIA has engaged as part of conference programming and planning. Learn more about how GIA engages the local community in each city where the conference is held.

Grantmakers in the Arts is relocating its offices to New York City in January, 2018 and is seeking to hire several staff positions.
