Conference Information & Registration
The 2015 GIA Conference has sold out!
We have reached our capacity for the conference, and are no longer able to accept additional registrations, either in advance or on site at the conference.
Conference Eligibility
Conference attendance is open to GIA members, and staff and trustees of organizations that are eligible for GIA membership. These include private, community, corporate, and family foundations; public-sector grantmakers; regranting organizations whose primary purpose is arts grantmaking; and individual donors who give through eligible organizations. Board members of National Partner organizations are not eligible to attend the conference. Membership is not required for conference attendance.

A Brief Word on Fundraising Ethics
To preserve the capacity for open discussion, all attendees must refrain from fundraising or solicitation. Organizations that solicit funds are expected to be represented only by individuals whose roles involve grantmaking, programming and/or policy, and not by fundraising or development staff.

* Group Registrations
In order to receive the group discount, all participants from the same organization must be registered together on the same registration. We recommend registering all participants in your group at one time. If you wish to add additional participants after your registration is complete, you must log in using the password you designate for this account and add them to the existing registration in order to receive the group discount.

We strongly encourage all conference attendees to reserve their guest rooms directly through the hotel. Scammers have targeted attendees of many conferences by falsely claiming to be affiliated with the conference and making claims of cheaper hotel rooms.
Guest Fee
The guest fee is $125. The guest fee permits an individual accompanying a conference registrant to attend these social events:
- Sunday opening reception
- Monday night Dine-Arounds
- Tuesday night dinner at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles
Please note that conference plenary sessions, meals, and conference breakout sessions are not open to guests.
Cancellation Policy
Refunds for cancellations will be processed as follows:
- Cancellations made prior to September 1, 2015:
refund of 90% of registration paid. - Cancellations made September 1 - 20, 2015:
refund of 70% of registration paid. - After September 20, 2014, conference fees are nonrefundable.
Sustainability at the Conference
Conference Materials: In keeping with GIA’s commitment to sustainability and the environment, we do not offer a resource table for distribution of materials at the GIA conference. GIA regularly provides current reports, research, and materials of interest and relevance to the GIA membership on our website news feed. Additionally, to further reduce waste, GIA does not provide conference tote bags or miscellaneous handouts.
Carbon Offsets: While we know that participant travel to an annual conference is necessary for our attendees, we programmed this year’s conference with a strong emphasis on the local talent and expertise in Los Angeles and its surrounding area. GIA also purchased carbon offsets for staff travel.
Water Conservation: California is experiencing significant drought conditions, and Governor Jerry Brown released an executive order to reduce water consumption by 25%. Please be mindful of your personal water usage during your stay, and note that restaurants only serve water upon request.
Conference Documentation
GIA reserves the right to record conference proceedings through videography, photography, and written documentation, including blogs and social media, for non-commercial use on its website and in publications.
