How can arts organizations collaborate with, commission, and hire undocumented immigrant artists and storytellers? Arts institutions can help catalyze a culture of inclusion, authentic representation, and real power-sharing – particularly in these times of state-sanctioned anti-immigrant hate. This panel will draw on the firsthand experiences of an undocumented award-winning artist, a legal expert and leader in immigration law, and an arts organization leader to explore successful strategies to include, promote, and resource migrant artists. In this way we will invite cultural leaders to translate intentions of solidarity into institutional practice.
