The Coalition for Artists’ Preparedness and Emergency Response, a national network of arts councils, arts service organizations and arts funders, is moving from research and study to action developing resources and networks for artists and arts organizations to draw upon before, during and after disasters. During this 90-minute session, we will discuss the need for disaster preparedness and response within the arts sector and the costs to artistic careers and creative economies without it. Join members of the Coalition and others as we describe the overall vision for the Coalition’s mobilization plan and various projects underway. The Coalition seeks input from the GIA membership on the Coalition’s vision and advice on increasing disaster planning and awareness in the arts sector.
