This overview of the current state of arts education in Washington State includes chapters addressing primary considerations for establishing high quality K-12 arts education programs: Curriculum, Assessment, Teaching Capacity, Collaboration, Scheduling, (finding time for the arts), and Funding. Each section includes a list of benchmarks (in easy-to-find yellow boxes) and "Action Agendas" (called out in green boxes) that outline specific strategies for sustaining arts education at the local and state level.
