Games for Change 8th Annual Festival, June 20-22
The Games for Change 8th Annual Festival will be in New York, June 20-22, at NYU's Skirball Center. Often referred to as “the Sundance of Video Games,” the Festival is the biggest gaming event in New York City. It brings together leaders from government, corporations, civil society, media, academia, foundations, and the gaming industry to explore the increasing real-world impact of digital games as an agent for social change. The Festival is also a showcase for some of the most innovative new games in production. This year's keynote: former Vice President Al Gore.
Games eligible for four categories of award, including the Knight News Game Award presented by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, will be staged in an "awards arcade" and available for open play.
