A Cultural Strategy Guide Toward a Post-Pandemic Future
The Center for Cultural Power presented recently "NoGoingBack: A COVID-19 Cultural Strategy Activation Guide for Artists and Activists" to inspire creation and disruption in moments when "a global pandemic has magnified the flaws of our capitalist system, but, also, the power art and culture to uplift, disrupt and build community."
"This is a guide for makers and doers - it will help you tell a shared story about who we can be in times of crisis and who we want to become," states the guide that offers six narratives toward a post-pandemic future.
The authors reflect:
It is inevitable that society will change after this pandemic. But whose ideas will drive those changes? As “normal” life and “business as usual” have ground to a halt, we have a rare opening to build momentum to create the inclusive, joyful, liberated world we need. It will be artists who paint the picture of a new normal that will allow us to wake up to a better version of ourselves and our communities, where justice and compassion are a reality, where we value each other and build a social safety net that holds us all, and where we live in regenerative relationships with each other and with the Earth.
