2007 Grantmakers Information Technology Survey Report

In June, 2007 the Technology Affinity Group and the Council on Foundations conducted an information technology survey using the Council's new online survey and benchmarking website. The Survey was sent to all TAG members and to the Council's primary contact at each U.S.-based member organization. 334 foundations completed the survey which is a completion rate of fifteen percent. This report, which has employed technology to gauge technology, found that barriers for implementing technology are disappearing, foundations describe their technology adaptation as falling behind, and many foundations do not have appropriate technology plans or policies. It also notes that the transition to online grantmaking is hindered by the lack of an online grantmaking product that easily integrates with existing internally-hosted grants management systems.
