While the Off-Off-Broadway community encompasses hundreds of companies and thousands of theatre artists, there exists virtually no statistical information about this vast and diverse community. In an endeavor to create a baseline for this information, New York Innovative Theatre Foundation is conducting a series of survey programs. This initial study examines the production budgets of Off-Off-Broadway companies and the ways they spend their money. Not intended as a comprehensive economic impact study, the report determines average annual expenditures of this segment of the New York theater community.
