Grantmakers in Aging Names New CEO
John Feather, PhD, will become CEO of Grantmakers in Aging effective October 1. He replaces Carol Farquhar, who served with GIA for more than a decade and is retiring.
Many in the field of aging and philanthropy already know John, who served as volunteer President of GIA’s Board from 2000-2002, and is currently the CEO of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, the national membership organization of pharmacists who specialize in care of older persons. Early in his career, he rose to Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. For several years, he served as Executive Director of the AARP Andrus Foundation, a major aging philanthropy. And, most recently as CEO of ASCP since 2002, he has significant experience managing a large and vibrant association with deep connections to the aging field.
