“Given that I worked to help elect a President who had a detailed, coherent arts policy, obviously, I would argue “yes”. yes it’s a good thing. As with most issues, arts funding and policy is divvied up all over the Executive Branch and also at the State level. Having some kind of Senior Arts Advisor (I really don’t care about the Cabinet Level part, actually part of me would prefer it be someone who doesn’t have to be confirmed by the Senate) would help ensure that all of these different policy component work in tandem with one another and work towards the stated goals of this administration w/r/t arts.” Read More.
